\## Executive Summary

The research outlined in the abstract introduces a new forensic model called Venus-DefakerOne2, designed to combat forgery across various media types, including images and videos. Forgery can take many forms, including digital alterations and physical impersonations, making a versatile detection tool essential for security in many industries.

Venus-DefakerOne2 is built on extensive training using tens of millions of samples, both sourced from public databases and developed in-house. The model incorporates two innovative techniques to enhance its capabilities. The first, called Tide-Style-Tuning, efficiently balances the need for computational resources and the model's ability to adapt to new data without losing previously learned information. The second technique, known as Entropy-based Test Adaptation, optimizes how the model predicts outcomes by assessing the uncertainty of its predictions.

The model demonstrates impressive performance across a wide range of forgery detection tasks. For instance, it achieves accuracy rates of 96.7% for detecting DeepFake faces, 93.3% for AI-generated images, 87.6% for tampered documents, 89.6% for manipulated natural images, 93.1% for physical spoofing, and 96.0% for AI-generated videos. These results indicate that Venus-DefakerOne2 not only surpasses the capabilities of specialized models aimed at specific types of forgery but also outperforms its predecessor, DefakerOne.

This research is particularly relevant for industries where the authenticity of digital content is critical, such as finance, media, and security. By providing a robust tool for identifying various forms of forgery, organizations may enhance their ability to safeguard against fraud and misinformation. However, it is important to note that the performance metrics reported are based on benchmark tests rather than real-world applications, which could affect their applicability in practical settings.

The advancements presented in this research contribute to the development of a more unified approach to forgery detection, potentially paving the way for future applications in diverse sectors that rely on the integrity of visual and video content.

\## Academic Abstract

Real-world forgery is inherently heterogeneous: it manifests not only as digital manipulation but also as physical spoofing, and is carried not only by images but also by videos. Despite substantial progress, a unified anti-forgery foundation model covering such a broad threat spectrum remains absent. In this paper, we present Venus-DefakerOne2, which substantially extends the forensic capability boundary along both the forgery-form and media-type dimensions. Trained on tens of millions of open-source and in-house samples, it incorporates two key designs. Tide-Style-Tuning alternates LoRA and full-parameter fine-tuning to balance computational efficiency, generalization, and hard-sample fitting while mitigating catastrophic forgetting. Entropy-based Test Adaptation determines the optimal prediction modality by analyzing prediction entropy. Venus-DefakerOne2 achieves new state-of-the-art performance across a comprehensive suite of benchmarks, including DeepFake faces (96.7%), AI-generated images (93.3%), tampered documents (87.6%), manipulated natural images (89.6%), physical spoofs (93.1%), and AI-generated videos (96.0%). It significantly outperforms both specialized expert models and its predecessor, DefakerOne, establishing itself as a powerful and versatile foundation model for binary-decision forensic tasks.
